Hawkins Middle School

 A WORD FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

First, I want to welcome everyone to Hawkins Middle School for this school year. For our incoming 6th grade class and new teachers and staff, I would like to say thank you for being part of our HMS family and welcome to our school. This is an exciting time, and I encourage everyone to reach out to someone new, build healthy relationships, and find your place within this great school community.

For our returning 7th and 8th grade Commandos, welcome back! Parents and guardians, we as an HMS family look forward to working with you to help your child succeed both academically and socially, and that can only happen if we work together and you are involved in this important journey. Become familiar with important dates throughout the year, along with those surrounding progress reports and report cards. Learn the names and email addresses of your child’s teachers, and the requirements and expectations each of those teachers have for your child.

Hawkins Middle School has a long and ongoing tradition within the Hendersonville community, and we, as a school, look to represent that tradition with excellence. We all have things that we can improve on, and we at HMS are no different. Let’s work together to continue to grow and achieve that excellence so we can better serve our students, parents, schools, and community. In doing so, we can ensure that our students have the opportunities they need to succeed in achieving their goals and in becoming better people every day. The faculty at HMS looks forward to working with you and we eagerly await a great school year.

Thank you,

Kristin Averitte

Principal
