Hawkins Middle School

Positve Rewards Program:

We want you to be aware of the fact that we have implemented a new positive rewards program this year. Every Friday, students who qualify will be rewarded for behavior, attendance, and completion of work. The types of rewards will vary from week to week but the required standards will remain consistent.

To qualify for weekly rewards, a student must have met the following criteria for the week:

  1. No documented discipline infractions as of 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon
  2. No absences (excused or unexcused)
  3. No tardies (to school or class)
  4. No missing work that is still eligible for completion

This program is by no means being used to punish any student but rather to recognize and encourage students who act responsibly. Students who do not meet the criteria will not participate in the planned activity for that particular week. No other privileges will be taken nor punishment enforced upon students who do not qualify. Every student will start with a clean slate at the beginning of each week. Our intention is to continually improve the attitudes of our students and the learning environment of our school.
