TCP - TOTAL COMMADO PRIDE

TCP is a school-wide anti-bullying program through which students learn what bullying behavior is, how to stop it, and how to report it.  Groups are led by teachers at HMS and meet twice a month.  During these group sessions, students will be equipped with tools to advocate for themselves and others.  TCP provides an avenue towards developing an individual relationship between teachers and students.  By serving as adult advocates, our staff members display caring and concern for students academically, socially, and emotionally.  As advocates, our staff listen to and guide our students, acting as liaisons between school and home.  Teachers are able to watch for potential behavioral changes and address them quickly.   In this manner, the needs of students can effectively be met as they work towards personal growth in all areas of their educational experience.  It is not just about recognizing bullying behavior, but more about educating young people and providing them skills that hopefully last a lifetime.
